FODMAPs are short chain carbohydrates that are poorly absorbed in the small intestine.They include short chain oligo-saccharide polymers of fructose and galactooligosaccharides (GOS, stachyose, raffinose), disaccharides (), monosaccharides (), and sugar alcohols (), such as sorbitol, mannitol, xylitol and maltitol.
